I am inspired by the natural beauty in central Pennsylvania where I live and have my studio. The inspiration for my engraved meadow grass collection came to me late night, walking past a meadow lit with hundreds of fireflies flashing in the darkness. For my botanical collection I use actual leaves and flowers from my garden. I roller press them into fine silver. I then apply a thin layer of 24K gold sheet using the ancient Asian technique of keum-boo. I burnish the gold to bring out the fine detail. The materials and diamonds I use in my work are recycled “Harmony” brand materials.
